When Imgur user Deckermeansbuild bought a large industrial chain at an auction, he wasn’t really sure what he’d end up doing with it.
It wasn’t until the builder came across a set of red, translucent water bottles that he had an awesome idea for one of his clients. He decided to create a unique LED lamp that they could hang on their office wall — and the result is seriously cool!
Each of the four bottles would end up being spaced out equally and attached to the link chain.
He wanted to create a wave effect, so he wrapped the chain around a few one-quart paint buckets that were glued down on a wooden board.
After tacking the links together, he removed the buckets and began welding the links so the chain would hold its shape.
Then this crafty guy welded pipe supports into the back plate that would hold the lights up.This is where the water bottles would be attached and wired.

The next step was to weld the chain to the back plate and then weld tubing halves onto the pipes to support the bottles.Looking pretty cool already!
In order to get the water bottles to correctly fit into the lamp sockets, he drilled holes into their lids.
Then he just needed to sand the backs of the bottles a little before using epoxy to glue them to the tubing. He made sure to use LED tube lights — otherwise the bottles might’ve melted!
I really wasn’t expecting them to look this awesome, but now I’d totally be willing to take them for myself!
